Rest in His Love

“Jesus Visits Martha and Mary

As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!  There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:38-42 (NLT)

Hi everyone how are you?

God has told me many times before not to look at the barriers and look to Him

and yeah, it’s hard to keep my eyes focused on Him.

it’s hard when all I want is that physical need to be met, I don’t want the strength to get through the day.

I just want to rest and know what that’s like

the rest that comes from not needing to deal with troubles and not having every other little thing, chore, stuff, etc to be done

someone said that love isn’t like fire, it is rest.

that makes so much sense.

I’m praying that I’ll learn to receive His love and learn to rest in His love

I think I was raised to be like Martha. busy. distracted by household work that has to get done.

laundry. the dishes (lol Doc we really don’t use the machine). Cooking. cleaning.

those are important but Mary has chosen to be at Jesus’ feet.

I envy her to be able to rest.

and the beautiful part is, Jesus said that she has chosen the best and it will not be taken away from her.

in a patriarchal society where we women come last often.

that was comforting.

thank you for reading. God bless you 🤟
